Solar Energy and Wind Power – Why Do We Not Focus More On Green Energy In all geographical locations across the globe, there is an abundance of sun and wind. Yet, for all our technological advances, we remain dependant on non-renewable and carbon producing energy sources such as coal. It is a known fact, that should the Sahara be covered with solar arrays, enough energy would be produced to power the entire planet. This is probably not a viable or realistic option, yet it shows that we have an unlimited amount of energy available to us, provided free by nature, in the form of solar energy, wind power and of course geothermal and wave energy.
Some notable organisations are making strides towards renewable energy sources. Google for example, has patented wave powered server farms. A concept that will allow massive artificial islands to be built at sea, housing the millions of servers that power the Google global network. The surrounding wave action of the ocean would power the servers as well as their massive cooling systems; a concept that would result in zero pollution.
Again, this shows that new technologies for green energy are possible, if the will to implement them is there. Having large organisations lead by example, is essential to setting the standard in creating clean energy.
As the population on our planet grows, and as we continue to further exhaust the limited natural resources, there will come a point where renewable energy will not just be a good concept, but rather an essential part of our future survival.
Creating green energy through solar, wind or other natural means has become simpler and more cost effective than you might imagine. There are a number of DIY Solar Power Kit’s available that work and allow you to build your own electricity generating system in your own garden. All it takes is a willingness to do some research and educate yourself about solar power and other alternative energy sources and the methods to harness them.
Sun and wind is readily available to everyone, yet we do not utilise this abundant energy source. We rely on power companies to feed our electricity requirements, which in turn results in additional carbon pollution as well as depletion of limited energy resources such as coal.
With electricity and power prices spiraling this is having a direct impact on our own quality of life, there are ways you can take control and combat the price hikes. Its up to you take action, the world is in your hands!
