DIY Solar Energy Success

With sun and wind being such an abundant resource, especially in our part of the world, it is truly surprising that more people do not take the opportunity to go off grid and begin generating their own energy.

A few months back, we got theE4E DIY Solar and Wind Energy Kit, and it has made a massive difference e, by cutting our electricity bill by almost 80%!

We run a medium sized guest farm in the eastern cape of South Africa, and were looking around for alternative energy solutions. Not just in order to cut costs, although this was the biggest motivation, but also to be independent from a deteriorating electricity grid infrastructure, which does at times result in blackouts, which in turn affected the bottom line of our business.

Admittedly, at first we were skeptical, as there are so many “questionable” products available out there.

The amazing thing with thisDIY energy kit is that it can be downloaded immediately, no matter where you are. It contains a step by step DVD series to take you through all the key steps. Detailed schematics and blueprints, energy calculator and much more.

As we are not the best mechanically inclined people around J, the concern also was how could we, with limited technical knowledge build our own energy system.

Well, we were pleasantly surprised, as this Diy Energy Kit is designed and set up in such a way that a novice will be able to follow and understand the steps easily.

Here is the best part…… The kit details the components you require, and these can be sourced from your local hardware store! Yes you heard right, we got all the required components for our solar panel system and wind turbine from our local hardware store.

The entire set up costs a tiny fraction of the price compared to having solar panels and related systems installed, literally saving you thousands!!!

When you get your diy energy kit, you own the rights to it…. This made one of our partners think ahead…. And he has now started a neat little side business, building and designing solar panels, solar power system and wind turbines for others in the community, generating a nice little profit for him.

You simply cannot go wrong…. This kit made a huge difference to us. It’s professionally set up, detailed and allows a novice to build his or her own solar or wind energy system without extensive technical knowledge. This kit has made a difference to thousands across the world and saved us and other people a lot of money.

Whether for residential, business, rural or in a city….generating your own electricity is a reality and easier and a lot cheaper than you think

What are Some Practical Renewable Energy Power Systems For A Sustainable Future

In today's world where there is much concern about the environment, more and more people are looking to find alternative energy sources to supply the electrical needs of their homes or businesses. There are many different renewable power systems available for various applications, some are better and more widely available than others, some are more practical than others as well. The short list of power sources available are geothermal, water turbine, solar, wind turbines, and of course magnetic generators. While all of these can be used in various regions of the world, three are the most common and widely used, Solar panels, wind turbines, and magnetic generators.

To learn more about magnetic energy specifically, go to http://www.magneticenergynow.com
To learn more about solar and wind energy, go to http://www.africanenergies.com

First we will discuss solar power. Solar power systems use panels with photovoltaic cells to capture the energy from the sun, and convert it into DC electrical power. While many homes and businesses don't use Direct Current, but Alternating Current or AC to produce electricity, it can be changed by simply attaching an inverter between the power supply and the application. You can also harness this power for later use by hooking up batteries, before the inverter, to store excess electrical energy for those time that there isn't any sun, like at night, or during a storm. With enough solar panels linked together, you can generate an ample supply of power to supply you whole house or business, with plenty extra to spare.

The next form of renewable energy is through wind turbines. Now you may have seen large wind turbines in farms, and these are much to big for your residence or small business. However the technology regarding wind generators has come a long way, with the actual turbines becoming much smaller. There are actually two different types of wind turbines available, horizontal, and well as vertical axis turbines. While both can be used for your needs, vertical axis turbines are far more advantageous. They can pick up lower wind speeds, as well as from any direction, and there are not as many internal parts to have to deal with. They can be made much smaller, and can be mounted on any high surface, with or without a pole of their own. The materials are much less expensive, and easier to put together.

The next form of sustainable energy is the magnetic generator. This device uses magnetic fields to create electrical energy, and needs no external source of energy. This means that you can use them under any conditions, with no worries about the lack of sun or wind, in cold areas as well as hot. They are small and can be made about the size of a standard emergency generator. This generator uses opposing magnetic forces to produce electricity, and once set in motion will run continuously with very little maintainance, as long as you want. While not a new concept, actually older than really any other form of alternative energy, for the most part this concept has been kept under wraps by big business power companies for obvious reasons. Now however, they can no longer keep a cap on this information, and is widely available to the public.

Now, you can find many different DIY kits for these three sustainable energy sources online, and through several different outlets. All of these kits come with complete instructions on how to make them, even making the solar panels from scratch. They also come with complete materials lists, and where the best places to find them, so you can get the supplies for building these power systems relatively inexpensively.

With these systems in place, not only can you produce enough energy for all of your own personal needs, but surplus energy as well. This can get you completely off the grid, and in many areas, any surplus energy has to be bought back by power companies. This means that not only will you no longer have a utility bill, or have to worry about black outs, but you may be able to get money from back from them. In either case, you are helping to create a better world, save the planet, and keep some of that hard earned money in your pocket. The more people see your lights on during a power outage, the more curious they will be about these sources, and you will be able to spread this information and help others.

To learn more about magnetic energy specifically, go to http://www.magneticenergynow.com
To learn more about solar and wind energy, go to http://www.africanenergies.com

Magnetic Energy as an Alternative Energy?

As you all would have probably heard, the 35% price hikes by Eskom have been given the go ahead, As with everything else, life is becoming more expensive, especially for us, here in South Africa. We have been talking about solar and wind energy diy solutions, which have proven highly successfull for many people. Creating your own solar energy and/or wind power can allow you to cut your power bill by up to 80%, if not more. At the same time, you are doing your part to reduce carbon polution, as at a fraction of the cost it would take to install manufactured solar solutions. Visit our home page at http://www.africanenergies.com to learn more.

We had a look into another form of green energy last week, DIY Magnetic Energy. Creating a generator to generate free electricity? This magnetic generator is creating quite a buzz, due to the new concept. It is thjat new though? Not really, theories on magnetic energy have always been well founded, and technically, some industires use the resource very successfully, therefore, why should we not be able to use this in our homes?
To learn more about this new revolutionary Magnetic Energy Generator, click here to visit the official magniwork website.

Power black out during Super 14 match in Bloemfontein - What will happen during Fifa2010?

On Friday we all got together to watch the Blue Bulls vs. Cheetah's Super 14 match, played in Bloemfontein. I could not believe my eyes' when I saw the stadium had a power failure in the heat of the game!

One of the first Super 14 matches, a global audience, a few months away from the soccer world cup, and one of our stadiums is plunged into darkness during an international match. Not a good picture....

I am, and have been very positive about the World Cup here in South Africa, always pushing against negative sentiment (of which there is unfortunatly a lot). The newspapers voiced there concerns about he blackout in Bloemfontein as well.

I also feel a level of concern, but will rather say this... we can host this cup successfully, and Eskom needs to simply ensure this does not happen anywhere, anyhow in any way shape or form during this massive event... Can they do it? Off course! We have not experienced load shedding in almost 2 years.... surely we can ensure that we are not left in the dark during the World Cup, and give our international visitors the best South African experience they can possibly have...Again I need to state, if our reliance on fossil fuels was not so overwhelming, we could keep the lights on and industries going, through the utilisation of renewable energies, we as individuals can start making the difference...
Learn more at http://www.africanenergies.com

Daar is drie eenvoudige gevolgtrekkings:

Die probleem sal nie verdwyn nie, indien enigiets, as gevolg van krimpende hulpbronne , sal die probleem eskaleer, en alles wat ons doen op' n daaglikse basis, is afhanklik van elektrisiteit.

Suid-Afrika is 'n groeiende ekonomie, met meer en meer nywerhede en stedelike ontwikkeling. On weet dat hierdie probleem nie sal verdwyn nie.

Dit bly 'n raaisel vir my waarom daar geen groter belegging in groen, skoon hernubare energie is. In hierdie pragtige land van ons s'n, is ons geseënd met groot hoeveelhede son en wind. Tog bou ons nog meer steenkool-aangedrewe kragstasies.

Is daar iets wat jy kan doen om die last te verlig?
Ja daar is ...

Having just moved to a new house,I am unfortunate to have to deal with a number of the normal issues we all deal with when it comes to transfering accounts etc. On of these is the power bill, which has now almost doubled,in comparison to my last house. Not because I am using more electricty, because the property is apparently bigger! Off course the 35% price increase is also to blame. It becomes real when it starts hitting your pocket.

Needless to say though, once I have my DIY solar power system set up in my new house, I will cut out approximatly 75% of that bill, as I did in my last house, DIY Solar and Wind energy is the key

It amazes me how our power utility does their calculations... it also amazes me how we tend to still focus on short term solutions to a long term problem, not just here in SA, but globally. Instead of investing billions into additionlcoal fired power stations, please Eskom, let's focus on renewable energy... wind and sun are plentyfull here, let's use it!
Learn more at http://www.aricanenergies.com

Building Your Own Solar Panel and The Benefits To You

Solar panels have long been studied and considered to provide an efficient and low-cost alternative to electricity generation methods that have become increasingly expensive over the years. Unfortunately, with materials and installation expenses for switching to solar energy being too high, most people have opposed adopting the technology; notwithstanding the growing disadvantages that current methods of producing electricity are causing to the environment as well as the continually rising costs charged by power providers.

Recent forecasts, however, have indicated a decline in solar panel prices in 2010. These forecasts have renewed interest in buying solar panels and installing solar energy systems in individual homes. In order to benefit from this technology, it is essential to first, find out more about what solar panels are and how easy and efficient installing a solar energy system can be.

Most solar panels are photovoltaic panels which absorb sunlight that is then turned into electrical energy. These panels include battery packs that serve as energy storage, ensuring a continual electrical supply during night time. Find out where sunlight falls the most within the premises on a daily basis and arrange for solar panels to be installed at that location. Ideal locations would be on rooftops as they are directly exposed to sunlight. Actual installation will require solar panel mounts which may be secured via stainless steel bolts.

The future of solar energy is slowly gaining ground. The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory spearheaded a research program that has found alternatives to silicon, a material used in building solar panels, albeit at expensive rates. In 2009, a study by the US Solar Electric Power Association indicated that despite the worsening economic situation, utility companies in the US have opted to adopt solar panel energy systems. Certain large companies have likewise started to harness power from solar energy, building enormous structures for solar panel installation. Some localities have begun providing tax incentives for individual solar power users as well.

In this day and age when technology dictates almost every aspect of living, including that of where the energy we use is derived and generated from, it is worthwhile to discover how best to utilize it in ensuring that the way we live positively affects and conserves the environment that we thrive in.

Learn how to design and build your own solar panel at http://www.africanenergies.com

You can also click on the image below to find out how to get hold of this DIY Solar Panel Construction Video Series, downloadable immediately:
